Weaveability were delighted to attend a fantastic charity evening on Saturday 20th June that raised over £1million.
The evening was hosted in support of
OnSide Youth Zones
, a UK-based charity founded by Bill Holroyd, CBE DL in 2008 that aims to provide limitless positive support and opportunities for young people to develop and grow.
Organised by Nick Hopkinson MBE and John Robinson, and with the wonderful hospitality of the charity’s founder Bill Holroyd, the evening proved to be an outstanding success. Over £1million was raised on the night to help make a difference to the lives of many children. Steve Yates, Managing Director at Weaveability commented: “I feel honoured to have been a part of this spectacular night; everything about it was incredible and listening to one of the girls talk to an audience of 600 people about her teenage years was distressing to say the least.
“Most people were making excuses to wipe tears away while she described what the
team had done for her, not just financially, but emotionally and physically, providing mentors who became people to confide in and work with to get the best out of life. Her speech was incredible.
“The generosity on the night was inspiring; to see their target of £500k smashed within three hours was a real highlight, second only to the total raised being displayed on the screens at the end of the night – the room was up on their feet cheering!”
OnSide Youth Zones
