Teng Tools B2B eCommerce Web Design Overview

The story of Teng Tools began in 1985. That was when Henri Tengvall saw the mechanics’ need of a well selected range of tools, with clever storage and properly composed tool sets. For the first few years, Teng Tools could be found only in the UK market. Since then, the brand has spread to more than 30 countries worldwide, has over 300 products in its range and has over 400 global stockists.

As a long-standing client of Weaveability, we have designed and built the UK and Ireland eCommerce sites and continue to provide marketing support. We are currently tasked with a European rollout of the eCommerce offering, the upcoming changes to the corporate website and online configuration system.

The current challenge Teng have is that their customers are using the information on the .co.uk site instead of the .com site, we are looking into ways to centralise the data and expand the solution our globally. This example demonstrates some of the changes to the corporate website, that incorporates eCommerce product journeys and account management.


The Teng Tools B2B eCommerce website follows our proven user journey navigation based around search, categorisation, product lists, filtering and easy to use checkout process. The B2B eCommerce site is fully responsive and works across multiple devices.

Colour Palette

Teng have an incredibly distinctive red that features heavily on the actual product and across all of their marketing literature. The colour scheme relies heavily on a very bold red, solid black and supporting yellow. This palette helps Teng Tools stand out in their marketplace.

Teng Tools use of the Futura font demonstrates strength and helps reflect the bold, gritty brand image they want to portray. We use this in different weights and mix and match the weights to provide an interesting way of displaying the messages.

Simple, clean but bold icons where applicable, help guide the user and remove clutter from the customer journey and account management sections.


UI Components

Teng’s customer journey UI is built around their focus on connecting ‘tools’ with their ‘trays’ and ‘storage units’. The entire is designed with this principal of ‘connected’ elements in mind. Panels that slot together on the interface, bold typographic elements and a bold style for the entire ordering process. Done whilst maintaining a slick, professional and aspirational look and feel that reflects their brand ideals.

We have leveraged this by adding in supporting information to engage the reader and help build aspiration around their area of work, using gritty, working images and strong bold messaging to tie in with Teng’s corporate guidelines.
